Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Statue

This statue depicts Mary as Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, standing with her hands open and rays extending from them as a symbol of the graces she offers to those who seek her intercession.

The image originated from the Marian apparitions witnessed by Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris in 1830 and later became the design for the Miraculous Medal. Mary’s posture represents compassion, protection and her willingness to bring the prayers of the faithful before God, while the serpent beneath her feet symbolises the triumph of good over evil.
