"Earlier this year, Arvida Bystrom and I had spoken about taking a road trip around her native Sweden to shoot a new book. COVID-19 made that impossible, so instead, Arvida, who lives near Stockholm and I'm based in London, shot the film virtually over Skype and FaceTime. With coffee made by my boyfriend in the kitchen downstairs, I sat on the sofa in our Kentish Town home, giving her directions while she guided me through a dark fairy-tale forest. We had fun going to the supermarket in the Swedish countryside over the internet, and Arvida told me the names of the items in English as she packed them into the cart. I shared her life during lockdown with her. We walked her dog Pedro, cooked breakfast, had baths, ran through nature, and danced around the house, all while never leaving the house. Even though we rarely spend a lot of time together in person, we always communicate in the exact same way, whether in person or through technology. I love that relationship.β - Valerie Phillips
