Garnierite is a nickel-rich material recognised by its colouring, which can range from pale apple green to deep emerald. It was named after French geologist Jules Garnier, who discovered it in New Caledonia in 1864. Although sometimes sold as Green Moonstone, Garnierite is not scientifically a variety of moonstone.

Garnierite is traditionally associated with growth, renewal and recognising new possibilities. It can be useful when you feel ready for change but are still working out what direction that change should take.
